Hong Kong hot spot claims first place
Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 ranking was unveiled during a ceremony at the Kerry Hotel in Hong Kong on 25 March 2026.
Bangkok dominates the listing with 14 entries, followed by Seoul with 13, while Tokyo and Hong Kong each have 10 restaurants featured, reinforcing their positioning as Asia’s key dining hubs.
The number-one restaurant in this year’s edition is The Chairman in Hong Kong, rising from second place in 2025. Helmed by Michelin-lauded chef Danny Yip, the venue offers inventive Cantonese dishes, from steamed flowery crab to claypot rice with beef short ribs.
Commenting on his win, Yip said: “It’s overwhelming. The last time we were number one was during Covid, so we didn’t have the chance to go up on stage. This is just the best. We’re in Hong Kong and we’re number one. I’m so happy.”
