Fincantieri cuts steel for line’s first new ship in 25 years
Crystal Cruises has begun construction of its newest vessel, Crystal Grace, with a ceremonial steel-cutting at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy.
The project marks Crystal’s first new-build ship in 25 years and the third vessel developed in partnership with Fincantieri.
Cristina Levis, CEO of parent company Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group (AKTG), said: “As we look to the future, we are focused on creating ships that feel both deeply rooted in Crystal’s heritage and unmistakably modern, where space, service and experience come together in a way that is both intuitive and extraordinary.
“Crystal Grace will do that for the brand, and we are so proud that this moment with our partners at Fincantieri brings that vision one step closer to reality.”

Crystal Grace will also house a dedicated crew recreation area with a 24-hour gym, lounge, bar and convenience store, among other facilities.
The ship will embark on its maiden voyage on 11 June 2028, sailing from Civitavecchia near Rome to Fusina, Venice, on an eight-night itinerary. The itinerary includes ports of call in Croatia, Montenegro and Greece.
