Three weekly services to commence on 29 October 2026
Etihad Airways is set to become the first Middle Eastern carrier to launch non-stop flights to Luxembourg, enhancing connectivity between the UAE and Europe’s leading business and leisure hubs. Starting 29 October 2026, the new service will link Abu Dhabi with Luxembourg, a destination celebrated for its Unesco-listed Old Town, fairytale castles and picturesque valleys.
Strategically positioned between France, Germany and Belgium, the Grand Duchy also serves as a key gateway for travellers exploring Western Europe.
Operating three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, flights will depart Zayed International Airport (AUH) at 02:45, arriving in Luxembourg Airport (LUX) at 06:55. The return leg will leave at 09:35, landing in Abu Dhabi at 19:05.
The six-hour route will be operated on Etihad’s new Airbus A321LR, featuring wide-body-style premium cabins, including flat-bed First Class suites with closing doors.

Commenting on the launch, Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said: “This route is about more than connectivity – it is about building new bridges between Europe and the UAE, unlocking opportunities for business, tourism and cultural exchange. Travellers from Luxembourg can look forward to convenient direct access to Abu Dhabi’s world-class attractions, luxury hotels and authentic Arabian experiences, while benefiting from seamless onward connections across our global network.”
The new route supports Abu Dhabi’s tourism vision to attract 39.3 million visitors by 2030, as the emirate continues to increase marketing investment across key European source markets. Major new cultural landmarks, including the Zayed National Museum and the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, are further enhancing the capital’s appeal to European visitors.
Etihad’s European network now spans around 20 destinations, with Luxembourg among the latest additions and Palma de Mallorca to follow in June 2026, becoming the first direct link between the UAE and Spain’s Balearic Islands. The carrier will further deepen its presence through a codeshare partnership with German airline Condor, which will see daily flights from Frankfurt and Berlin to Abu Dhabi launch in summer 2026.
The growth comes during a strong 2025 for the airline, which carried 20.2 million passengers in the first 11 months of the year, a 20% increase on the same period in 2024.
