The opening follows IntercityHotel Riyadh Malaz, which debuted in the capital in 2018, and expands a regional network that also includes IntercityHotel Dubai Jaddaf Waterfront and four properties in Oman – Bawshar Muscat, Salalah, Nizwa and Muscat.
Commenting on the agreement, Siegfried Nierhaus, Vice President and Head of Development, Middle East, India & Africa, H World International, said: “Saudi Arabia has been a driving force in our expansion strategy and an important source market with significant growth potential.
"The launch of IntercityHotel Riyadh Al Rayaan, our second IntercityHotel in Riyadh, underscores the confidence and trust placed in our brands in the region.”
Alongside IntercityHotel, H World is broadening its Saudi footprint with its premium Steigenberger brand. Developments include Steigenberger Residence Jeddah, catering to long-stay travellers, with further Steigenberger projects in the pipeline as the group looks to meet demand driven by Vision 2030’s target of 150 million annual visitors by 2030.
In Riyadh, 690 rooms were added during H1 2025, lifting total supply to 49,100 keys, according to JLL’s latest Hotels Market Dynamics report, with a further 1,080 rooms are expected to be delivered before year-end.
