Mansard Riyadh appoints new GM

Hans Konings has been appointed General Manager for Mansard Riyadh, a Radisson Collection Hotel, bringing more than 25 years of international hospitality experience to the Saudi capital. 

Konings has worked with Radisson Hotel Group since 2003, holding senior leadership roles for the past 15 years across multiple markets. 

In his most recent position as Senior Director of Operations at Jin Jiang Radisson Hotels in Shanghai, China, he oversaw more than 45 upscale and luxury properties, driving post-pandemic financial recovery, through revenue growth, gross operating profit and implementation of brand standards. Konigs previously led the repositioning of Radisson Blu in Sochi, Russia, guiding its conversion into a Radisson Collection property, resulting in a 107% increase in profit.

He has also held roles with Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts, and built extensive experience across international markets such as the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Slovakia.

As GM of Mansard Riyadh, Konings will oversee all hotel operations, with a focus on enhancing guest experiences. He also brings multilingual expertise to the role, with proficiency in English, Dutch and German, among other languages.

Konings’ leadership has been recognised with accolades such as ‘Best General Manager in Russia’ by the International General Manager Awards and ‘Best Talent Developer’ within Radisson Hotel Group. Properties under his guidance have also been honoured for sustainability initiatives, receiving Green Key Environmental Certification and Blue Flag Certification for beach operations.

Opened in 2022, Mansard Riyadh was Radisson’s second property in the Saudi capital. Located in the Ar Rabi neighbourhood, the 191-key hotel offers 24-hour room service, twice-daily housekeeping and meeting rooms with a capacity for 240 guests. 

Since then, Radisson has grown its Riyadh footprint to 10 hotels and continues to grow its presence across the Middle East. The group now counts nearly 100 hotels in operation or under development, with an ambition to reach 150 hotels by 2030.
