Madinah property will have 221 rooms and set to open in November 2025
Hilton will open a Tapestry Collection hotel in Madinah later this year, marking the debut of the lifestyle brand in Saudi Arabia.
Diyar Ajwa, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is slated to open in November 2025 in partnership with Al Musbah Group.
The hotel will have 221 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a café and a fully-equipped fitness centre.
It will be located in central Madinah putting guests within walking distance of the Al Masjid Al Nabawi, the Prophet’s Mosque, and near the new Haramain high-speed railway station.
With 160 hotels worldwide, Tapestry Collection properties are known for their individual design, authentic experiences and original F&B offerings.
Diyar Ajwa’s design will be inspired by the Ajwa date, grown exclusively in Madinah.
“With its unique identity rooted in local heritage, this hotel will offer visitors and pilgrims an authentic and memorable stay in the heart of Madinah,” said Mohammed Almusbahi, Director at Al Musbah Group.
This signing comes hot on the heels of IHG Hotels & Resorts announcing plans for a 383-room Crowne Plaza hotel in Madinah in 2026, also strategically located just steps from the Prophet’s Mosque.
These signings come as Madinah’s hospitality sector experiences a sharp upswing, with the number of licensed facilities surging to over 450 in 2024, a 93% year-on-year increase.
The city now boasts more than 20,600 hotel rooms and reports industry-leading occupancy rates, reaching over 81% in early 2025.
Visitor numbers to Madinah rose 18.7% in 2024, reaching 18 million, with the Holy City targeting 30 million visitors by 2030, driven by interest in 400 religious, historical and cultural landmarks.

Hilton’s rapid expansion in Saudi Arabia
While Diyar Ajwa is the first foray for the Tapestry brand in the kingdom, other Tapestry Collection properties in the region include the Tumbi Hotel Dubai The Palm in the UAE and Fuwairit Kite Beach in Qatar. Both of those properties have a wellness focus.
“Our continued collaboration with Hilton reflects our shared vision to support the kingdom’s hospitality goals and deliver world-class offerings across key cities.”
This comes after Hilton and Al Musbah in May announced Spark by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah – the debut of the premium economy brand in Saudi Arabia – expected to open later this year, with 329 rooms with twin and triple-bed configurations.
Part of Hilton’s growing midscale offering, Spark sits alongside Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn, which account for a third of the pipeline in Saudi.
Hilton is on track to reach a milestone of 100 properties, operating or in the pipeline, in Saudi by the end of 2025 as it aims to more than quadruple its presence in the kingdom.
With 20 hotels in operation and 77 in the pipeline, Hilton properties now account for a quarter of all branded hotel rooms under construction in the kingdom.
