Historic villa reimagined as "urban retreat" under the Althoff Collection
The Florentin Frankfurt is now accepting bookings ahead of its opening on 1 November 2025.
The hotel is housed within the historic Villa Speyer, built in 1901 by the von Speyer banking family, featuring distinctive Gothic and Renaissance styles with a stone façade and a corner tower.
Previously operating as the luxury Villa Kennedy before closing in 2022, the property is now fully renovated and part of the Althoff Collection, which describes it as an "urban retreat" blending heritage architecture with contemporary design.
Located in Frankfurt’s Sachsenhausen district, just 10 kilometers from the airport and a short walk from the River Main and museum quarter, The Florentin offers a peaceful yet central escape.
The name “Florentin” comes from the Latin for “blooming,” a nod to the lush central courtyard at the heart of the property, surrounded by comfortable seating and a spacious terrace suited for al fresco breakfasts and casual gatherings.
Architecturally and design-wise, the hotel embraces a minimalist aesthetic characterised by clear lines, natural materials, soothing colors, and sensual textures.
Upon opening, The Florentin will offer 17 room types, ranging from stylish Deluxe Rooms, some with private outdoor space, to the expansive Royal Suite, which features three bedrooms, a separate living room, and a fireplace.
