Cathay Pacific to launch Premium Economy on Dubai-Hong Kong flights

Airline’s Premium Economy product to launch with the new Airbus A350-900 on the route from 6 August

Passengers travelling between Dubai and Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific will be able to experience the airline’s Premium Economy product with the rollout of the Airbus A350-900 on the route from 6 August.

The new aircraft with extra-wide cabins is configured in a three-class layout, with 280 seats comprising 38 in Business Class, 28 in Premium Economy and 214 in Economy. The aircraft features an innovative entertainment interface, inflight Wi-Fi connectivity and newly designed seats.

Premium Economy seats on the Airbus A350-900 are equipped with a full-length leg-rest, leather-padded footrests, a retractable armrest that can be adjusted and a headrest. They recline by nine inches and have an expanded seat pitch of 40 inches. Other features include a dimmable personal reading light, slide-out cocktail table, larger meal table, in-seat power outlet and an amenity storage on each seat. The 28 seats are configured in a 2-4-2 cabin layout.

The Airbus A350 is a lighter aircraft with a lower fuel burn, employing the latest generation of Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines that produce 25% lower carbon emissions. The engines make the airline more efficient on long-haul routes, reduce emissions and boast a diminished noise footprint.
