Celebrity Cruises to open early booking access for debut river cruises

Celebrity Cruises is set to open priority booking for its new river cruise product, giving travel agents early access to the inaugural 2027 sailings.

 

Starting 3 September 2025, agents can secure Priority Booking Access for the Danube and Rhine itineraries by placing a fully refundable US$500 deposit. 

 

Those who register will be among the first to receive stateroom details and itinerary information ahead of general on-sale in 2026.

 

The launch follows Celebrity’s January announcement of its dedicated river division, marking the brand’s first step beyond ocean cruising. 

 

This debut comes amid rising demand for European river sailings, with industry data indicating the river cruise sector is projected to reach US$5billion globally in 2025, and Europe comprising 60% of the market.

 

Luxury river cruising is growing at more than 10% annually, and operators such as Viking and Tauck have reported double-digit increases in European bookings.

Celebrity has ordered 10 new river ships for the expansion. The vessels, designed for 180 guests each, will take inspiration from the line’s Edge Series ocean ships, offering 360-degree views and adapting the look, feel and experience for European waterways.

 

Details on itineraries are yet to be released, but the initial lineup will include sailings on the Danube and Rhine, with visits to notable cities and locally inspired dining and experiences. 

 

Fares will cover all meals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, Wi-Fi, onboard programming and one shore excursion per port. Options for pre- and post-cruise stays in Prague and Budapest will open as the sales window widens.

Celebrity River Cruises has not announced when bookings will open but said it will give priority to deposit holders who are Captain’s Club Zenith members, followed by Elite Plus members.
