In a culinary coup for the UAE, Trèsind Studio has maintained its ranking in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list for the second year running – this time coming in at number 13.
From humble beginnings in a backroom of sister restaurant Trèsind, chef Himanshu Saini has steered Trèsind Studio to its current status as one of the world’s most renowned Indian restaurants in less than a decade.
The celebrated chef was honoured at the awards ceremony held in Las Vegas, USA at Wynn Las Vegas among an audience of his global peers on 5 June 2024.
Barcelona’s Disfrutar, which is owned and run by three chefs – Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Mateu Casañas – took the top spot from Lima’s Central, who was number one on the World’s Best 50 Restaurant list in 2023 and now enjoys an elevated position in the Best of the Best Hall of Fame (see the full list of Hall of Fame list below).
Disfrutar is followed in the ranking by Asador Etxebarri at number two in Atxondo, Spain and Table by Bruno Verjus at number three in Paris, France.
Berlin’s Nobelhart & Schmutzig (43) is the winner of the Sustainable Restaurant Award. Its ‘brutally local’ ethos is testament to its personal relationships with farmers and growers, allowing the team to offer a truly regional and seasonal menu.
Mitsuharu 'Micha' Tsumura, the chef-owner of Maido in Lima, wins the Chefs' Choice Award 2024, the only award to be voted for by his peers, in light of his dedication to putting Peru onto the world culinary stage, evidenced by Maido’s position at number one on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2023.
