Dubai’s Taj JLT appoints general manager

A seasoned hotelier, Mohit Gurnani has been with The Indian Hotels Company for more than 15 years

Taj Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) has named Mohit Gurnani as its general manager after more than 15 years with The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL).

In his new role at the 200 key property, Gurnani will be responsible for the full management and operations of the property and continuously improving guest satisfaction rates and the overall guest experience.

Gurnani has extensive experience with Indian Hotels Company Limited, previously acting as hotel manager for the Taj Dubai during its pre-opening in 2015. He was integral to positioning the property as a go-to luxury hotel in the competitive Downtown district. More recently, he held the position of general manager at Taj Chandigarh where he strategically navigated the hotel to emerge stronger during the peak of the pandemic, optimising revenues, realigning strategies, and instilling confidence to restore hospitality and tourism in the city.

Speaking about his new role, Gurnani said: “I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to lead Taj JLT as general manager and continue my professional journey with IHCL. The Taj brand is renowned globally for its solid foundation of warm Indian hospitality and world-class service and I look forward to working with the team to further that commitment in the dynamic city of Dubai.”

Gurnani graduated from the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai, and attained further professional qualifications in strategic thinking, revenue management and business excellence.
