Organisers cite regional conflict implications
The Michelin Guide Dubai, the restaurant rating system that awards Michelin stars and Bib
Gourmand distinctions across the emirate, has postponed its annual ceremony, with organisers citing the impact of the Iran war. A new date has yet to be announced.
In a statement, Michelin described the move as a “conscious and necessary decision”, saying the implications of the regional conflict require “resilience and adaptability” from the industry.
In a message to Dubai’s restaurant community, the guide said: “Your work sustains the spirit and vitality of our culinary community every day. We look forward to celebrating with you very soon.”

Restaurant guide operators continue to expand across the Gulf, withGault&Millau recently launching its inaugural Saudi Arabia guide, recognising 250 restaurants across Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla, Dammam and Abha. The debut makes Saudi Arabia the second GCC market after the UAE to receive an annual Gault&Millau guide.
The postponement from Michelin comes as organisers from around the globe push back or cancel events held across the GCC due to lingering impacts of the Iran war. Travel trade event Arabian Travel Market (ATM), originally set for May 2026, recently rescheduled its exhibition to September 2026. Similarly, multiple cruise sailings and F1 races across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain were cancelled earlier this year.
