Flights between Manama and the Israeli capital will begin in September
Bahrain’s national airline is set to begin roundtrip flight services to Israel. The carrier will operate two weekly flights to Tel Aviv, starting on 30 September 2021.
Speaking about the new route, Gulf Air acting CEO Captain Waleed Al Alawi said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our Bahrain-Tel Aviv route as part of the historic Bahraini-Israeli relations. As the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, we take great pride in supporting our leadership and kingdom in their role of preserving peace and prosperity in the region.”
Bahrain and Israel established full diplomatic relations last year as part of the Trump administration-brokered Abraham Accords. Bahrain-Israel relations have steadily strengthened since the historic accords. Bahrain’s first-ever ambassador to Israel arrived at the country late last month and is eager to welcome Israeli tourists to the Gulf state.
