Michael Owen, Michael Dawson and Joleon Lescott hosting footie camps

Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Hotel is bringing back its popular Football Escapes programme this October, offering young guests the opportunity to train with legends of the game.

Junior football hopefuls can look forward to sessions with former Premier League stars Michael Dawson and Michael Owen, who will host separate camps in October, followed by a special camp led by Joleon Lescott in December.

There will be two additional camps in February 2025, one of which will be led by former Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon.

Dawson will put youngsters through their paces from 21 to 25 October; Owen will help them refine their penalty shots from 28 October to 1 November; and for those looking to enhance their defensive skills, Lescott will be hosting sessions from 27 to 31 December.

Looking ahead to next year, there will be two camps running from 17 to 21 February, and 24 to 28 February respectively, with Lennon leading the latter.

Football Escapes at Jumeirah Beach Hotel cater to guests of all skill levels and abilities aged between five and 15 years.

Sessions will focus on shooting, decision-making, tactical awareness and technical skills, offering specialised instruction and an opportunity to build camaraderie, with two hours of daily training from 9am-11am, from Monday to Friday.

The sessions will be held in the hotel’s outdoor venue, Janat Al Bahar. Upon booking, players will receive a personalised video message from one of the camp ambassadors, along with a signed shirt to spark excitement for their upcoming adventure.

A personalised training kit will be waiting for them on arrival at the hotel and at the end of the camp, each player will also be awarded a custom participation medal.
