Warsaw has topped a new study compiling the top 10 cheapest capital cities in Europe to travel to.
The research carried out by financial experts, Gambling 'N Go, considered factors including flights, one night
'
s stay in a hotel, and a three-course meal for two in a mid-range restaurant.
Warsaw, a city full of history and culture, came in at a total price of US$202.
The top 10 cheapest cities are:
For a touch of the Mediterranean, Spain's capital Madrid, in second place totalled US$231, faring cheaper than other Spanish cities such as Barcelona, and one of the cheapest cities in Western Europe.

Sofia, Bulgaria, one of the continent's lesser known gems and home to a plethora of options from natural beauty to architectural wonders such as the St Alexander Nevski Cathedral, took third place, with a total price of US$250.

On the opposite end of the scale, Vaduz, Liechtenstein, is the most expensive capital for a city break with a total average cost of US$1,230.
