Mirna Tamimi will oversee the agency’s tourism outreach
VisitBritain, the national tourism agency for Great Britain, has announced the appointment of Mirna Tamimi as Communications Manager for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
Mirna’s role at VisitBritain will focus primarily on promoting Britain’s visitor offer across the GCC, working with media to profile the latest tourism products, experiences and attractions.
This will range from hosted media visits to destination promotion, encouraging visitors to explore Britain through its regional gateways.

According to the tourism body, VisitBritain estimates that it received a record 1.3 million visits from the GCC in 2024, which was up 21% on 2023.
It is forecasting that visitors from the GCC will spend £3.1 billion (US$3.9 billion) on their trips to the UK this year, a spike of 26% on 2023.
