Twice-daily Airbus A321LR services to begin 1 May 2026
Etihad Airways will introduce new premium cabins on all flights to Mumbai and New Delhi, operating four times daily to each city starting 1 May 2026.
The UAE national carrier will deploy its Airbus A321LR on two daily services to each city, complementing its existing flights operated by wide-body aircraft, such as the Boeing 777, Boeing 787 and Airbus A350.
One of the latest additions to Etihad’s fleet, the Airbus A321LR offers elevated cabin products. Business Class offers 14 lie-flat seats with direct aisle access, while the Economy cabin comprises 144 ergonomic seats featuring a five-inch recline. The aircraft also features two private First Suites, complete with sliding doors, 20-inch entertainment screens and fully flat beds.

Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, said: “This is a major upgrade on our flights connecting Abu Dhabi to Mumbai and New Delhi, which demonstrates our commitment to the strategically important Indian market where we serve 11 gateways.”
The airline began rolling out the A321LR in August 2025, primarily deploying the aircraft on short- and medium-haul routes.
A total of 30 aircraft are expected to be delivered, with deployment to cities including Phuket, Algiers, Copenhagen and Phnom Penh, among others. In India, the addition of Mumbai and New Delhi will bring the number of Airbus A321LR destinations to three, joining Kolkata.
The addition of new aircraft comes amid Etihad’s ongoing network expansion, with the airline recently launching six new routes across Africa and five in mainland China. Seasonal services to Dhaka, Bangladesh, will also operate from 26 June to 24 October 2026.
