Services to Dubai, Sharjah and Damascus to be reinstated
Qatar Airways has reinstated flights to the UAE and Syria, following a period of temporary suspension linked to airspace disruptions caused by the Iran war.
The airline will restart daily services to Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) from 23 April 2026, and resume daily flights to Damascus International Airport (DAM) from 1 May.
The move comes as the airline continues to restore routes globally and rebuild its previous flight schedule. Starting 16 June, the carrier expects to fly to more than 150 destinations across six continents. This schedule will remain in place until 15 September 2026, adding new routes and increasing frequencies to and from Doha.
Qatar Airways has also extended its flexible booking policy, allowing complimentary date changes for flights scheduled up to 15 June, with rebooking available until 31 October 2026.

Elsewhere in the region, Qatar Airways has resumed flights to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan and Lebanon, and services to Abu Dhabi, Manama and Kuwait City will resume in June.
Qatar’s airspace first reopened with limited capacity in early March 2026, running mainly repatriation and cargo flights, before increasing operations for commercial services. The country has recently reopened to foreign carriers, with airlines such as Flydubai, Air Arabia and Oman Air set to reinstate Doha routes.
Across the Gulf, airlines are returning to more than 50% of pre-war capacity, according to Flightradar24 data. Some carriers, such as UAE-based Emirates, are reaching near 70% of pre-war levels.
