Ponant unveils new culture and wellness themed cruises

In line with its ‘Explore to Inspire’ ethos, French cruise ship operator Ponant has enriched its voyages with a series of themed programmes. 

Inspiring experts and personalities will share their experiences and knowledge, helping to create ‘Ponant moments’ during voyages as part of the four new themed programmes.

The cruise line describes the key themes of the programmes as:

• Planet: For those who are passionate about the challenges of protecting the oceans and poles, guests will travel with explorers, scientists and the internationally renowned naturalists who accompany Ponant.
• Culture: For the opportunity to savour the thrill of discovering a work of art, explore major museums or enjoy live music on board and meet the artists.
• Geopolitics: For passengers to gain insight into every region visited as they discover its cultural, civil and geopolitical issues, enlightened by expert journalists, diplomats and historians.
• Wellbeing/Lifestyle: For wellness enthusiasts; yoga, nutrition and sleep will be offered. Discovering a sense of spirituality, self-indulgence, epicureanism and gastronomy will also be covered.

Ponant has scheduled around 100 “enriched cruises” in 2022, and plans to do the same in 2023.

The first special guest will be Christian Makarian, former journalist of the French news magazine L’Express, and his guests will include Dorothée Schmid, a French Institute of International Relations researcher.
