UAE carrier handled 21.8 million passengers last year
Sharjah’s low-cost carrier Air Arabia has reported its highest-ever annual profit, posting AED1.8 billion in net earnings for 2025, up 14% year-on-year.
The airline’s strong financial performance was supported by a steady rise in capacity and new route launches.. Operating from six hubs worldwide, including its Sharjah base, Air Arabia added 30 new destinations to its network in 2025, including Krabi in Thailand and Kazan in Russia. This year, the carrier will further expand connectivity with the launch of non-stop Sharjah-London Gatwick flights from 29 March 2026, taking its network to more than 200 destinations.
Driven by these developments, operational capacity increased 10% in 2025, while passenger traffic rose 16% to reach 21.8 million. Fourth quarter results reflected the same momentum, with a net profit of AED405 million, a 15% increase compared to 2024, and nearly 6 million passengers carried at an 87% seat load factor.

Reflecting on the airline’s performance, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohamed Al Thani, Chairman of Air Arabia, said: “Looking ahead, we are firmly focused on executing our growth strategy by further strengthening our multi-hub operation, expanding our global network and increasing capacity across high-demand markets."
He added that the carrier will continue to drive efficiency by optimising its fleet, improving customer engagement and supporting sustainable long-term growth. By December 2025, Air Arabia’s fleet comprised 90 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
The airline’s success has been recognised with multiple industry awards, including being named Low-Cost Carrier of the Year by the Aviation Business Middle East Awards, and a ranking among the Top 100 Listed Companies for 2025 by Forbes Middle East.
Complementing the airline’s growth, Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) – Air Arabia’s primary hub – also set new passenger records, welcoming nearly 20 million travellers in 2025, up 14% from the 17 million reported in 2024.
