Two new tours launched to meet soaring North American demand

Hurtigruten is doubling capacity on its Svalbard Line, deploying a second ship on regular Bergen–Longyearbyen sailings exploring the Arctic from summer 2026.
The refurbished MS Midnatsol will join the MS Trollfjord on the Svalbard Line to meet rising demand, with bookings surging more than 40% year-to-date, driven largely by North American travellers.
Alongside extra capacity, Hurtigruten will offer two new tours combining Norway’s iconic ‘Norway in a Nutshell’ rail and fjord journey with immersive Arctic stays in Svalbard, including its largest settlement, Longyearbyen, and remote wilderness.
Part of the premium Signature concept, these itineraries highlight longer port stays, all-inclusive dining with local ingredients and curated cultural excursions.
The new two tours will have 15 departures in 2026, with prices starting from $5,432 per person.
