Egypt has remained a key travel hub for Emirates in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with the carrier marking nearly 40 years of service to the country. The increased weekly capacity will make Cairo the airline’s most served destination within Emirates’ Africa network, served by the highest number of A380 aircraft outside of Dubai.
Cairo continues to remain a top destination for GCC travellers. According to recent data from Wego, MENA’s largest online travel marketplace, there has been a 12% rise in bookings to Egypt from the GCC area. The recent opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo is also expected to attract more tourists.
