Preferred Hotel Group updates loyalty programme

Enhancements include additional membership tiers and increased earning options

Preferred Hotel Group, which operates Preferred Hotels & Resorts, has revamped its I Prefer Hotel Rewards loyalty programme.

There are new Explorer and Authority membership tiers, new earning and redemption options, a selection of independent hotel experiences and a Refer-A-Friend bonus offer.

Vice-president of loyalty Jeri Salazar said: “Over the past year, our loyal I Prefer Hotel Rewards members have shared feedback requesting greater value and differentiation in their membership, a faster route to more benefits, a wider variety of points redemption options and earlier recognition. As part of our constant commitment to improvement and service excellence, we took on board these learnings to create several new member-focused initiatives that travellers can enjoy this summer and beyond.”

I Prefer Hotel Rewards offers more than 650 independent hotel experiences to more than 3.8 million members. The most notable update to the loyalty programme is the introduction of two new membership tiers – Explorer and Authority – each with its own set of benefits. The new tiers complement the existing Insider and Elite tiers, offering benefits such as priority early check-in and late check-out, complimentary room upgrades, free in-room internet, access to partner offers, welcome amenities and 20%-50% bonus points per eligible stay, based on member status.

Members can also earn 1,000 points for each new sign up through the new Refer-A-Friend bonus, by sharing a unique referral link via social media channels, email or messenger. Bonus points are also extended to each new member. Travel advisors will also receive a 1,000-point bonus for every new member they sign up to the loyalty programme.

I Prefer Hotel Rewards is also offering its members more options with regards to where they can enjoy their benefits. More than 25 new properties have joined Preferred’s loyalty programme this year, including ModernHaus SoHo (New York, United States), The Fives Oceanfront, Puerto Morelos (Q.R., Mexico), The Haycock Manor Hotel (Wansford, United Kingdom) and Andronis Arcadia (Santorini, Greece).
