Line’s newest vessel will set sail in August 2027
Bookings are now open for Oceania Cruises’ newest ship, with 22 sailings aboard Oceania Sonata available from Wednesday, 28 January. The ship’s inaugural season will run from August 2027 to April 2028, featuring voyages of seven to 16 days across 90 destinations.
Oceania Cruises, part of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, recently transitioned to an adults-only brand, introducing an age policy that limits sailings to guests aged 18 and over from 7 January 2026.
The 1,390-passenger vessel will be the first in the luxury line’s new Sonata Class and will feature two new suite categories, including four all-new Owner’s Suites, the first in the fleet to offer two bedrooms instead of one, along with a wraparound terrace.
The ship will also debut two restaurant concepts: Nikkei Kitchen, introducing the line’s first Japanese-Peruvian fusion dining at sea, and La Table, offering fine French cuisine through a six-course tasting menu paired with vintage Champagnes.
Despite accommodating 190 more guests than Allura, Oceania’s newest ship will maintain a higher space ratio per passenger, further enhancing onboard comfort.
Oceania Sonata’s maiden voyage will be a 14-day roundtrip sailing from Civitavecchia (Rome) on 7 August 2027, calling at Catania, Valletta, Katakolon and Zadar. Following that, the ship will visit Barcelona, Athens and Lisbon, as well as “lesser-known ports” such as Paros, Koper, Sarandë and Palamós, with overnight stays in Istanbul, Livorno and Bordeaux.
The vessel will then reposition across the Atlantic to Miami for a tropical season, with itineraries visiting the Caribbean and Latin America, including Bridgetown in Barbados, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa in Mexico and Puerto Quetzal in Guatemala, alongside a Panama Canal transit.

Chief Luxury Officer Jason Montague said: “Oceania Sonata’s inaugural season is defined by the cultural diversity and geographic variety of the destinations she visits.
“As the first of four ships in the Sonata Class, her premiere sets the tone for the thoughtfully designed itineraries, exceptional comfort and meaningful, unrushed freedom to explore the world that underscore the continued evolution of Oceania Cruises.”
When she joins the fleet, Oceania Sonata will become Oceania’s ninth vessel and the first of four in the new Sonata Class.
