Property features the Holy City’s highest rooftop lounge
Hilton has strengthened its presence in Saudi Arabia with the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Madinah Gate, marking the DoubleTree brand’s fourth hotel in the kingdom. The launch underscores Hilton’s ambitious growth strategy in Saudi Arabia, with plans to add 82 hotels comprising 22,000 rooms across 14 brands, accounting for more than a quarter of all branded hotel rooms under construction in the kingdom.
Anchoring the Madinah Gate project in Knowledge Economic City (KEC), the new DoubleTree by Hilton property forms part of a mixed-use, transit-oriented development directly connected to Madinah Gate Mall and the city’s high-speed railway station. Guests can also take advantage of a 24-hour shuttle service to and from the Prophet’s Mosque (Al-Masjid An-Nabawi).
The hotel features 325 rooms and suites across nine categories, including spacious family accommodations with floor-to-ceiling windows and city views.
Dining options include Nurya, an all-day restaurant serving Saudi, Levantine and Mediterranean dishes; do deli, a lobby café offering light bites and pastries; and the soon-to-open Bazar Lounge, set to become Madinah’s highest rooftop lounge with skyline views and premium shisha.
With the opening, Hilton now operates two properties in Madinah, with seven additional hotels under development. Upcoming openings include three hotels within KEC’s Islamic World District and three within the Rua Al Madinah masterplan.

Madinah’s tourism and hotel sectors continue to register robust growth as Umrah travel rebounds. During the first half of 2025, the city welcomed 10 million religious visitors, a 10% year-on-year increase, and achieved the highest hotel occupancy rate in Saudi at 74.7%. Madinah now counts 538 licensed hospitality facilities, including 69 new hotels, bringing total room inventory to more than 64,500 keys, with an additional 6,600 rooms added in the first half of the year alone.
Knowledge Economic City aims to expand its capacity to 11,000 hotel rooms by 2029, with a long-term goal of reaching 42,000 keys. Meanwhile, the Rua Al Madinah Project is expected to deliver more than 47,000 new rooms by 2030, significantly increasing accommodation supply around the Prophet’s Mosque and city centre.
Beyond Madinah, Hilton continues to grow across the Kingdom. In Makkah, the group recently added Wirgan Al Noor, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, and DoubleTree by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah, raising its local portfolio to more than 4,100 rooms. Its pipeline spans both midscale and luxury segments, with upcoming openings including Waldorf Astoria and Conrad hotels in The Avenues–Riyadh, Conrad Riyadh Laysen Valley set for 2026, and Waldorf Astoria Diriyah Gate in the historic heart of the capital.
