Lifestyle property adds to the group’s 60-strong pipeline in the kingdom
IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its Saudi Arabia footprint with the signing of Hotel Indigo Grand Square Jeddah, its third property under the lifestyle brand in the kingdom. The signing follows a 60-strong property pipeline that includes two Hotel Indigo hotels in Riyadh.
Developed in partnership with Ajdan Real Estate Development Company, Masic Investment Company and Sedco Capital, the new property will be located in the Grand Square mixed-use development on King Abdulaziz Road, a destination featuring hospitality, retail and premium office spaces.
The 150-key hotel will showcase Hotel Indigo’s distinctive neighbourhood-inspired design philosophy, offering guests an authentic stay that reflects Jeddah’s cultural spirit. Rooms will be thoughtfully designed to blend comfort and character, complemented by speciality dining venues, a health club, swimming pool and lifestyle-led programming that embodies the brand’s focus on creativity and connection.

Commenting on the signing, Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, IHG Hotels & Resorts, India, Middle East & Africa, said the addition of the property underscores the brand’s alignment with shifting traveller preferences. “Lifestyle travel is becoming increasingly sought-after in the kingdom,” said Mattar.
He added: “Hotel Indigo is a brand built on storytelling and local immersion - ideally suited to a destination like Jeddah, where rich culture and creativity intersect. This property is as unique as the neighbourhood it is part of, and we are excited to bring it to life, creating a new destination for curious travellers, residents, and professionals alike.”
IHG currently operates 46 hotels across six brands in Saudi Arabia, with a further 60 properties scheduled to open by 2030, and recently launched a talent development programme to prepare nationals for hospitality leadership roles.
Jeddah’s hotel market is also gathering pace, with 750 rooms added in the first half of the year, taking the city’s inventory to 18,760 keys, according to JLL’s latest Hotels Market Dynamics report. A further 1,300 rooms are due to come online before year-end, including the highly anticipated Raffles Jeddah.
