Record-holder Alessia Zecchini to share ocean insights on 13 October
Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives will host an immersive ocean experience with world champion free diver Alessia Zecchini on 13 October 2025.
Guests to the all-inclusive resort in the South Malé Atoll will have the opportunity to meet the Italian athlete, who made history as the first woman to free dive to a depth of 100 metres and later extended her record to 123 metres.
Known as ’The Deepest Woman in the World’, Zecchini’s pioneering career has been documented in the film Vertical Breath and the Netflix feature The Deepest Breath.
The event will take place on the resort’s Sunrise Beach, from 4pm to 5.30pm and include a talk and Q&A session with Zecchini, covering her record-breaking dives, approach to breath control and views on ocean conservation.
Following the discussion, guests can join an interactive beach session, sampling scuba and snorkel gear in shallow waters under the guidance of instructors from the resort’s diving centre, Sun Diving.
There will also be opportunities to meet Zecchini for photos and autographs, as well as explore the wider programmes offered by Sun Diving, the official diving arm of Sun Siyam Group.
