For the first time, the series steps away from Four Seasons properties
As ‘jet‑setting’ travel inspired by film and television continues to shape luxury booking trends, the hit HBO series The White Lotus is once again poised to influence travellers’ wish lists.
The award‑winning show will film its highly anticipated fourth season at the 19th‑century château‑turned‑luxury hotel Château de la Messardière in Saint‑Tropez, marking the first time the production has moved away from Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, which hosted previous seasons in Maui, Sicily and Koh Samui.
According to Variety, filming is scheduled between April and October 2026 at the historic hilltop estate overlooking the French Riviera. With suites priced from about US$3,000 (AED11,000) to US$8,000 (AED29,400) per night, along with Rolls‑Royce transfers and exclusive beach access, the hotel exudes the kind of cinematic glamour now synonymous with the series.
The decision to film in Saint-Tropez extends the show’s tradition of placing destination storytelling at its core. Each season’s setting — as much a character as the cast — has driven notable surges in tourism. Ahead of last year’s season three premiere, shot at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, Travel Republic reported a 412% rise in searches for Thailand holidays, while travel agency Fora recorded a 312% increase in January 2025 bookings compared to the previous year.
A similar surge in interest is expected for Château de la Messardière, as the jet‑setting trend of travelling to on‑screen destinations continues to shape luxury booking decisions.
Inside Château de la Messardière
Part of the Airelles Collection, the hotel is set within expansive gardens scented with jasmine and shaded by cypress and parasol pines overlooking Pampelonne Bay and encircled by Ramatuelle’s vineyards. Built in the late 19th century by cognac merchant Gabriel Dupuy d’Angeac as a wedding gift for his daughter Louise, the château evolved into a sought-after escape for Parisian high society in the 1920s. After a period of decline, it was meticulously restored in 1989 and today ranks among the Côte d’Azur’s most illustrious addresses.
The property blends Anglo-Moorish, Florentine and Provençal design influences across 86 individually decorated rooms and suites, many with private terraces or plunge pools, and several three- and four-bedroom residences. Dining spans nine venues, including Table de la Messardière, beachside Jardin Tropezina with its fresh seafood and barefoot-luxury aesthetic, and Matsuhisa, which brings an Asian fine-dining dimension.

Guests have access to multiple pools, including several outdoor pools, a children’s pool and an indoor option, as well as an iKKim’O-designed private beach club on Pampelonne Bay. The wellness offering centres on Spa Valmont, which features nine treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room and hammam, along with Ayurvedic rituals, body wraps and treatments that pair aesthetic techniques with scientific innovation.
A dedicated sporting club provides personalised coaching and a 24-hour indoor fitness centre, complemented by a Pilates studio and detox bar. An open-air fitness area with gym equipment and a box ring framed by centuries-old olive trees overlooks the bay, while tennis and padel courts round out the activity offering. In-house specialists, including an osteopath, further strengthen the wellness credentials.
For families, the Airelles Summer Camp Kids Club is housed in a dedicated 500-square-metre villa with its own pool, tree house, Lego workshop and a full programme of supervised activities for children from the age of three. Pets are also welcome, with full pet-sitting services and bespoke menus available.
Beyond Château de la Messardière, reports suggest the upcoming season will also showcase other French locales, potentially including Paris and Cannes, with production expected to coincide with the Cannes Film Festival from 13 to 26 May 2026. Four Seasons properties in France — the George V in Paris, the alpine Megève and the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat — may still appear in cameo roles, maintaining the brand’s link to the franchise’s visual narrative.
