Properties are located within easy reach of the city’s largest mosque
Hilton has expanded its presence in Makkah with the opening of two new properties, bringing its portfolio in the Holy City to more than 4,100 rooms and doubling its footprint in one of the world’s most visited religious destinations.
The launch of DoubleTree by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah and Wirgan Al Noor, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, takes Hilton’s Saudi portfolio to over 100 hotels open or under development, accounting for more than a quarter of all branded rooms currently being built nationwide. Both properties are owned by Wirgan Hospitality.
Centrally located within 15 minutes of Masjid Al Haram and near key religious landmarks such as Hira Cave, the hotels are poised to serve the millions of pilgrims visiting Makkah each year.

Wirgan Al Noor, Tapestry Collection by Hilton marks the world’s largest property under Hilton’s Tapestry Collection brand, featuring 1,386 rooms and suites with views of the Holy City. Facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, coffee shop, fitness centre, kids’ club, two ballrooms and eight meeting rooms. The hotel offers shuttle services to Masjid Al Haram, and major landmarks such as Jabal Al Noor, Zamzam Well and Al-Zaher Palace Museum are easily accessible.
Located in the eastern Al Aziziyah district, DoubleTree by Hilton Makkah Aziziyah is just five minutes from Masjid Al Haram, offering guests convenient access to religious sites including Mina and Jamarat. The 381-key property features stylish guest rooms and suites complemented by multiple dining options, a business centre, kids’ club and fully equipped gym, with regular transport services to the Haram area.
Commenting on the openings, Mohamed Lotfy, Cluster General Manager for both hotels, said each property had been “thoughtfully designed to offer guests comfort, convenience and a welcoming atmosphere”, ensuring a memorable stay in the Holy City.
With these openings, Hilton now operates four hotels in Makkah. The city welcomed more than 15.2 million Umrah pilgrims in the first quarter of 2025, a 32.3% year-on-year increase, as Saudi Arabia continues to advance its goal of accommodating 30 million pilgrims annually by 2030.
The launch underscores Hilton’s ambitious expansion strategy in the kingdom, with plans to introduce 82 new hotels comprising 22,000 rooms across 14 brands. In addition to recently signing two new properties in Hilton, the group is set to open a wave of luxury developments such as Waldorf Astoria The Avenues – Riyadh, Conrad Riyadh Laysen Valley, and Waldorf Astoria Diriyah Gate in Madinah.
