Qatar’s Doha International Airport (DIA), will temporarily resume operating commercial flights from September 2022 in order to reduce congestion at Doha's main hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA), during the FIFA World Cup 2022.
The decision to reopen Doha International Airport, which served as Qatar’s main airport before Hamad International Airport opened in 2014, comes as Qatar prepares to welcome more than a million visitors to watch the FIFA World Cup.
