App offers wellness support, rewards and community for sector professionals
Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has introduced BeRAK, an employee engagement and wellbeing platform designed to connect, motivate and reward the people powering the emirate’s growing tourism and hospitality industry.
The launch follows a record first half of 2025 for Ras Al Khaimah, which welcomed 654,000 visitors – a 6% year-on-year increase – alongside 9% growth in tourism revenue.
Unveiled during the RAK Sports Festival for tourism and hospitality professionals, BeRAK supports one of the UAE’s fastest-expanding workforces across hotels, resorts, attractions and other tourism-related businesses.
According to RAKTDA, certified as a Great Place to Work for five consecutive years, the initiative aims to create an environment where “every tourism professional feels connected, recognised and supported".

The first government-led platform of its kind in the UAE, BeRAK integrates communication, professional development and holistic wellbeing within a single digital ecosystem. Accessible via mobile and web, it blends online engagement with real-world experiences to strengthen community ties and build a culture of recognition.
Employees can access wellbeing programmes and expert consultations with psychologists, dietitians and personal trainers, both virtually and on-site, while tracking habits such as sleep, mood, hydration and activity through personalised wellbeing journeys.
Gamified challenges, including step and hydration goals, encourage active participation and reward positive behaviours, with points redeemable within the app for wellness vouchers, exclusive experiences and other incentives.
Social clubs, community feeds and peer-to-peer interactions promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the industry, while digital badges, celebration cards and milestone recognition features highlight individual and team achievements.
Commenting on the launch, Dr Mira Zakharia, Senior Director of Human Resources at RAKTDA, said the goal was to create a platform where all tourism professionals can “thrive personally and professionally".
She added: “By combining meaningful engagement and innovative wellbeing offerings, we are shaping a workforce that is connected, healthier, happier and ready to deliver exceptional guest experiences that reflect the true spirit of Ras Al Khaimah.”
