Shura Island property is to set to open in the fourth quarter of 2025
Saudi Arabia’s InterContinental The Red Sea Resort has joined Virtuoso’s exclusive network of more than 2,500 hand-picked luxury travel providers across 100 countries.
The resort, set to open in the coming months, is one of a number of luxury properties in Saudi Arabia that have been accepted into Virtuoso’s portfolio, including Banyan Tree AlUla and Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
Located on Shura Island in the heart of Saudi Arabia’s regenerative tourism project, the 210-key resort combines eco-conscious design and electric mobility with immersive dining and wellness offerings.
As part of Virtuoso, the InterContinental The Red Sea Resort will gain exposure across a community of top-tier travel advisors in the Americas, Europe, the Caribbean, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
Guests booking through affiliated advisors will enjoy exclusive benefits.

Saudi Arabia opens first island golf course
Developed by Red Sea Global in partnership with IHG, the InterContinental The Red Sea Resort is among the first three hotels opening on Shura Island in the fourth quarter of 2025, with The Red Sea Edition having already opened its doors.
It offers 178 rooms and 32 suites overlooking coral reefs and mangroves, with rooms and suites featuring curved facades and open, flowing interiors that reflect the surrounding landscape and architecture and curated artworks by Saudi creatives.
There are five dining destinations, from Levantine Moroccan flavours to fiery South American dishes, as well as an outdoor pool, fitness centre, spa, private beach and Planet Trekkers Club for young explorers. Activities include snorkelling and diving excursions to the world’s fourth-largest coral reef, plus biking, sailing and paddle boarding.
Shura Island is designed by Foster + Partners under the ‘Coral Bloom’ concept, the dolphin-shaped archipelago features luxury resorts, residences, a yacht marina, a retail and dining village, various entertainment venues, a wellness centre and leisure facilities, including Saudi Arabia’s first island golf course.
Upon completion, Shura Island will comprise 11 luxury resorts, branded residences, retail offerings and a marina, including properties from Faena, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Jumeirah, Miraval, Raffles and Rosewood.
