Silversea has mapped out a selection of global events across its 2026 cruise itineraries, offering travellers opportunities to step ashore for cultural, sporting and festival experiences in countries including Brazil, Norway and Scotland.
With access to more than 900 destinations across seven continents, Silversea times sailings with local celebrations, historic traditions and natural spectacles, providing guests with deeper insight into the culture and heritage of each place.
From colourful carnivals to high-profile sporting events, here are seven standout highlights for 2026.

Guests on the 12-day sailing from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro aboard Silver Whisper in February will arrive in time for the city’s world-famous Carnival. The experience includes reserved grandstand seating at the storied Sambódromo for the iconic parade, complete with extravagant floats, elaborate costumes and samba dancers. The itinerary, which takes in eight ports across three countries, also includes Uruguay’s Punta del Este.
