New Airbus A320neo marks Saudi airline’s first 2026 addition
Saudi Arabia’s low-cost carrier Flyadeal has expanded its fleet with a new Airbus A320neo, marking its first aircraft delivery of 2026 and bringing its total to 45 narrowbody jets.
The A320neo features 186 Economy seats arranged in a three-by-three configuration, complete with leather finishes in the airline’s signature purple colour.
Dubbed Al Saqr after the falcon, the aircraft is the first in Flyadeal’s fleet to be named after the kingdom’s national bird, with previous planes typically given constellation-themed titles.
As an all-Airbus A320 operator, Flyadeal is growing its fleet rapidly, having received five new aircraft in the past six months. The growing fleet will enable the carrier to add capacity across its network and introduce new routes to meet rising demand.

Steven Greenway, Flyadeal’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Our latest aircraft is the start of Flyadeal’s push towards the half-century fleet mark, a significant milestone for such a young airline.
“As more aircraft are delivered to Flyadeal this year, we’re able to increase frequencies on existing routes and deploy on new ones to keep up our growth momentum.”
Flyadeal’s fleet expansion follows record 2025 traffic, during which the airline carried more than 10 million passengers, marking a 33% year-on-year increase. The airline also expanded its international network, adding five new destinations in Pakistan alone, with services to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Sialkot.
To kick off 2026, Flyadeal launched five new routes from its base at Madinah’s Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, connecting the Holy City with Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport and the Saudi cities of Jazan, Tabuk, Al Hofuf and Abha.
Looking ahead, Flyadeal aims to triple its network to more than 100 destinations and double its fleet to 100 aircraft, supporting Saudi Vision 2030 tourism goals of attracting 150 million visitors by the end of the decade.
