Agents can build itineraries from 350 experiences and more than 140 hotels
Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has launched a new digital platform for booking tourism packages via its official tourism website, Experience Oman, marking a significant step in the sultanate’s ongoing digital transformation in the travel sector.
The dedicated platform serves as a unified gateway for travellers and trade partners to access a wide selection of Omani tourism products and services, currently featuring more than 200 tourism service providers, 350 experiences, 56 curated packages and more than 140 hotels and resorts.
Designed to simplify trip planning and bookings, the system brings together offerings from local operators and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), connecting them directly with international markets. Agents can now book a complete itinerary – from flights and accommodation to transport, guided tours and adventure experiences – through one seamless platform, streamlining the process of building and confirming Oman programmes for clients.

Aligned with Oman’s broader strategy to strengthen its sports and event tourism offering, the platform is also linked to packages built around high-profile events, including the Ironman championship, which the sultanate is hosting every November in Muscat until 2031. This sports-led approach is intended to drive incremental visitation, lengthen stays and encourage repeat travel by positioning Oman as a hub for endurance events and active holidays.
As part of Visit Oman’s trade-focused strategy, the new booking platform complements the recently launched free online training course for travel agents hosted on Online Travel Training (OTT). The course, available in multiple languages, is designed to deepen agents’ product knowledge and give them practical tools to build tailored Oman itineraries, ensuring the trade can make full use of the expanded inventory available on Experience Oman.
Oman Tourism is investing significantly in travel tech, with development arm Omran recently making a US$7 million investment in UnderTheDoormat Group in a digital platform to connect local property owners to global booking sites.
In a related initiative, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism plans to roll out a digital platform to connect licensed Omani tourist guides with international travellers. Due to launch in phases from early 2026, the platform will support content creation, reservations and payments, and plug local guides into global distribution networks, further broadening Oman’s tourism offer online.
Tourism is forecast to contribute 5% to Oman’s GDP by 2030 and 10% by 2040, with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism reporting 3.9 million international visitors in 2025, up 3% year on year.
