Group behind Best Western to open 70 properties in region by 2027
BWH Hotels has launched an Arabic language localised Best Western Hotels website as it invests heavily in the Middle East and especially Saudi Arabia.
The website allows Arabic-speaking agents to browse and book in their own language and also carries special offers and promotions designed for the region.
BWH aims to open 70 new hotels across the Middle East by 2027, with two thirds of those in Saudi Arabia.
Properties in the pipeline include new builds and renovations, with a focus on the Holy Cities of Mecca and Medinah.
Earlier this year, BWH reported it had signed agreements for 20 hotel projects across the kingdom, with high demand for new sites in major cities and tourism destinations.
One of those tourism hotspots in AlUla, which includes the Unesco World Heritage Site of Hegra, is due to welcome the Sunflower Resort from BHW, inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s famous paintings.
That signature property is part of the WorldHotels luxury brand, one of three in the BHW portfolio that also includes SureStay Hotels and the well-known Best Western Hotels & Resorts.
Speaking at the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) in May 2025, Ron Pohl, President of International Operations for BWH Hotels and President of WorldHotels, described the Middle East, and Saudi Arabia in particular, as a high-priority growth region for BWH Hotels.
“With 19 hotels in the Middle East and 22 currently in the pipeline, we are embedding ourselves in the region’s bright future," said Pohl.
