Saudi Arabia carrier offers nearly 2 million seats amid rising pilgrim demand
Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier Flynas is set to offer more than 1.7 million seats across its global network for Ramadan, marking a 20% increase in capacity compared to the 1.5 million seats made available during the same period in 2025.
The additional capacity comes in response to growing passenger demand for travel to Makkah and Madinah, as pilgrims plan their journeys to coincide with the holy month. Flynas said its network expansion and schedule flexibility are designed to accommodate the seasonal surge, while enhancing connectivity across key destinations.
Expanding its operational footprint remains a central focus for the airline. From 29 March 2026, the carrier will launch six new international routes from its new base in Abha, offering direct services to Dubai, Cairo, Istanbul and Addis Ababa, alongside seasonal flights to Kuwait and Trabzon in Türkiye. Additional upcoming routes include Jeddah–Entebbe from 26 March, followed by flights to Rabat from Jeddah and Madinah launching soon.

Beyond its own network, Flynas is preparing to launch a new joint-venture airline in Syria by Q4 2026. The new airline, to be named Flynas Syria, aims to boost air connectivity between Syria and destinations across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
The airline’s strategies align with the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030, supporting the kingdom’s target of reaching 300 million air passengers annually. Recent upgrades at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) help advance this goal by offering faster, more efficient processing times and security screenings.
