Launch marks Accor’s 60th hotel in the emirate
Grand Mercure Business Bay in Dubai has reopened following a rebranding of the former Gulf Court Hotel Business Bay, owned and managed by Gulf Hotels Group (GHG). Under a franchise agreement with Accor, the hotel now operates under the Grand Mercure brand, marking the group’s 60th property in Dubai.
Located along Marasi Drive in the heart of Business Bay, the hotel offers convenient access to Downtown Dubai and key tourist attractions, including The Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and the Museum of the Future.
The renovated property features 270 rooms and suites, including a signature two-bedroom penthouse overlooking the Dubai canal. Facilities include a club lounge, an outdoor pool terrace with panoramic city views and four meeting rooms accommodating up to 90 guests. Five dining and entertainment venues include dedicated karaoke rooms and Mediterranean Muse, a new restaurant set to open in Q1 2026.
Commenting on the new opening, Ahmed Janahi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Hotels Group, said: “We continue to manage the hotel while leveraging Accor’s global reach through its distribution channels and loyalty platforms.
“This partnership enhances our competitiveness in Dubai and aligns with our vision to grow through alliances that complement GHG’s long-standing hospitality heritage.”

To mark the opening, members of Accor’s loyalty programme will be offered four times their reward points for bookings made between 16 February and 12 April 2026, for stays from 16 February through 09 August 2026. Additional benefits such as discounts, complimentary upgrades and late check-out will also be provided.
The rebranding of Grand Mercure Business Bay comes as Accor continues to expand its Dubai portfolio, strengthening its presence in key business and leisure districts. The recent rebrand of Mövenpick Dubai Creek, formerly Golden Sands Hotel Creek, is part of the same strategy focused on asset-light growth through partnerships and franchise agreements.
