Set within Nairobi’s leafy Upper Hill district, Fairview Hotel Nairobi has reopened as part of IHG’s Vignette Collection, unveiling redesigned rooms and suites within its heritage bluestone buildings. The boutique hotel blends 20th‑century architecture with contemporary flair, featuring arched windows, wrought‑iron details and tranquil courtyards framed by lush botanical gardens. Guests can dine at garden restaurant Mukutan or poolside venue Pwani, serving Kenyan flavours and grilled meats, and enjoy coffee and light bites at the garden‑inspired Atrium Coffee. The cosy Nthome Fireplace and a wine cellar provide intimate spots for evening drinks, while facilities include an outdoor pool, fitness centre and nine event spaces. Guests can also pick up vintage phones around the hotel to hear short stories about Fairview’s history and its literacy work with the Kenya National Library Service, turning this ritual into an interactive way to explore its heritage.
