The new route expands SalamAir’s GCC network, with Abha becoming the carrier’s fifth destination in the kingdom, alongside Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah (Medina) and Dammam.
Steven Allen, Chief Commercial Officer of SalamAir, said: “This new route demonstrates our ongoing commitment to strengthening links between Oman and the wider GCC, while opening new opportunities for tourism and trade.”
Globally, SalamAir flies to more than 40 destinations across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, and also operates seasonal summer services to destinations, including European cities Sarajevo and Istanbul.
As services expand, the carrier continues to grow its fleet, recently announcing its 15th aircraft, an Airbus A321neo, named Barr Al-Hikman after the Sultanate’s popular coastal region. With a target of 25 aircraft by 2028, SalamAir also plans to launch a new operational base in Salalah.
