Destination to host live events, cultural performances and immersive experiences
Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has officially opened The Plaza, an expansive open-air events and entertainment venue in Uptown Dubai set to become a hub for live performances, cultural gatherings and community activations.
Overlooking the JLT skyline, The Plaza spans 21,000 square metres and offers a purpose-built, day-to-night destination at the heart of the emerging Uptown Dubai district, already home to the 188-key SO/ Uptown Dubai Hotel.
Designed to accommodate up to 4,000 guests, the venue features a sculptural outdoor stage, a 43-metre HD screen, landscaped lawns and multi-level terraces. Its flexible layout will host a varied calendar of live shows, festivals, markets and immersive experiences throughout the year.
Fully equipped for large-scale events, The Plaza offers convenient parking, direct access routes and a central New Dubai location surrounded by the district’s growing portfolio of restaurants, hotels and social spaces. The venue is also available for private event hire, catering to corporate and community gatherings alike.
To bring the destination to life, DMCC has appointed 7 Management as The Plaza’s strategic operator, tasked with curating a year-round schedule of entertainment and activities.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, The Plaza will transform into Moonlight Market, a month-long evening activation combining design, culture and live entertainment. The event will feature food trucks, retail kiosks, light art installations, family attractions, live mural painting and an open-air cinema beneath the stars, creating “a relaxed, social environment”, where visitors and residents can gather, explore, dine and enjoy.

Commenting on the debut, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, said The Plaza’s opening transforms the district into a destination that “brings people together” through business, culture and shared experiences.
He added: “The Plaza introduces a scale and capability that position Uptown Dubai as a premier venue for major international events, as well as everyday community moments. As we continue to advance the Uptown Dubai masterplan, The Plaza will play a central role in activating the district and creating a strong sense of place, supporting Dubai’s vision as one of the world’s best cities to live, work, and visit.”
