New GM appointed for Fairmont The Palm in Dubai

Accor has appointed Ugur Talayhan as General Manager of Fairmont The Palm, Dubai.

 

Talayhan brings more than three decades of hospitality experience with major global hotel brands including IHG, Hilton, Marriott, Rotana and Accor. His career has spanned international markets across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, with past GM roles at properties such as The Astor Hotel Tianjin, Raffles Hainan and The Westin Xi’an. 

 

In his latest position, as Country Manager for Türkiye, Eastern and Central Europe at Rotana Hotel Management Corporation, he oversaw operations for 10 hotels across multiple brands and led the development of new projects.   

 

No stranger to the Accor portfolio, Talayhan previously spent seven years with the group in Türkiye, holding senior positions such as Regional Vice President and Vice President of Operations. Earlier in his career, he also served as General Manager of Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Istanbul, where he was recognised with the 2024 Bernache Award for his exceptional leadership and performance.

Established in 2012, the 381-room Fairmont The Palm features a private beach, heated swimming pools and spa facilities, with easy access to attractions such as Aquaventure Waterpark and The View Palm. 

 

Talayhan’s appointment comes as Accor continues to strengthen its footprint across the UAE having recently expanded its portfolio with the opening of Mercure Hotel Abu Dhabi Downtown, marking the first Mercure-branded property in the UAE capital.

 

Accor has also reopened the Pullman Resort Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah following a refurbishment project. In addition, new leadership appointments have been made in the emirate, including Evan Harrington as Cluster General Manager for both Pullman Resort Al Marjan Island and Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island.
